Analyses the principles of displacement ventilation and mixing ventilation. Based on air distribution characteristics and the double-layer model theory, compares contaminant removing capability of the two ventilation modes. Measures the ventilation efficiency of the displacement ventilation systems for an office room, an assembly room and a gymnasium. Based on the movement characteristics of the contaminants released by human, points out that displacement ventilation is more efficient than mixing ventilation when aiming at removing human contaminants released from the occupied zone.
